Fail, Fail Again, Fail Better...

What we are generally taught in school, or at least what I was taught in school, growing up in Paris a few decades ago, was that mistakes were to be avoided at all cost…

So I tried avoiding them….but of course I made mistakes!

And when I wasn’t succeeding at something, and I was making mistakes, I was feeling shame and disappointment in myself and accumulating lack of confidence.

I would try hiding my FAILS from the people around me.

What a terrible way it is to define ourselves by what we haven’t accomplished yet.

The way I look at failing now, and the way I try teaching my own kids about it, and my amazing clients of course, is that SUCCESS IS ACTUALLY THE MOUNTAIN BUILT UPON FAILURES…

In other words that FAILURES are just another form of SUCCESS.

Today, I encourage myself, my kids and my clients to FAIL. I encourage them to not be afraid of FAILURE. I encourage them to even embrace FAILING.

To me, mistakes can just be the portal of new discoveries, a way to have a fresh look on things.

Thinking of it, my best self comes from having FAILED.

Knowing how to FAIL well…

Mastering the fine ART of FAILING…

…is what gets us to SUCCESS!

FAIL, FAIL AGAIN, FAIL BETTER my beautiful readers!
